Whenever (some) content providers are feeling lazy but need to (1) turn in some sort of promised work product on something ASAP and (2) want to up their hit-count without bothering to do anything original or useful there is nothing like dragging out the the old (completely false ... but who really cares? because do bisexual people even exist?) tired tropes about bisexuality.

Election night 2012 was a happy occasion for the bisexual community in the United States as all five openly bisexual candidates on the national and state ballots swept to victory.

Including the first openly bisexual member of the US Congress Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ); State Senator Angie Buhl (D-SD); Secretary of State Kate Brown (D-OR); State Representative Micah Kellner (D-NY); and State Representative JoCasta Zamarripa (D-WI).Collapse )

After a campaign by BiNet USA and bisexuals worldwide, Google has removed “bisexual” from its list of banned words.

Los Angeles CA, September 4th 2012 - BiNet USA is pleased to confirm that Google Inc. has unblocked the term bisexual from its search algorithm. Now that “bisexual” is allowed, terms such as bisexual quotes, bisexual rights, and bisexual parenting are automatically suggested to Google users.

When introducing Bi Women Newsletter, I am frequently asked whether there is a parallel publication for bisexual men. Sadly, there is not. To help remedy this, I have decided to put out a Special Men's Issue of Bi Women. This will be in Addition To the regular quarterly issues of Bi Women.

If you identify as a bisexual or in some other way as non-monosexual man/male-identified person, I hope you will consider submitting your work.Collapse )

As reported in Bi Magazine, on February 15th, 2012 BiUK, a British based umbrella organization for various bisexuality research projects and events, in collaboration with the Open University (OU) has just released "The Bisexuality Report: Bisexual inclusion in LGBT equality and diversity" (pdf).

This 2012 report is a very welcome and important addition to the cannon of Bisexual Studies, Bisexual Theory & general Queer Theory as well as contributing to the fields of Queer Studies, LGBT Studies, Feminist Studies and Gender Studies.Collapse )
